Yarn in 3 colors (center, petal, and border)


Crochet hook suitable for your yarn (e.g., 3.5mm–4mm for DK yarn)


Scissors


Yarn needle for weaving in ends

ch = chain


sl st = slip stitch


sc = single crochet


dc = double crochet


tr = treble crochet

Pattern Steps:

Round 1 (Green – Flower Center)


Magic Ring, or ch 4 and sl st to form a ring.


1. Ch 1 (not counted as stitch), work:


(ch 5, sl st in ring) repeat 6 times (you’ll have 6 petals).




2. Sl st to the base of the first ch-5 loop. Fasten off.

Round 2 (Beige – Inner Petals)


Join new color in any ch-5 loop.


1. (sc, ch 5, sc) into each loop. Repeat around.



2. You should have 6 petal loops now.

Sl st to the first sc. Fasten off.

Round 3 (Yellow – Outer Petals)


Join new color in any ch-5 loop.


1. (sc in loop, ch 7, sc in next loop) — repeat around for 6 loops.



2. Sl st to the first sc. Fasten off.

Round 4 (Beige – Squaring the Flower)


Join border color in any sc between ch-7 loops.


1. (Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 5, sc in next sc between loops) — repeat around.



2. You will have 6 ch-5 loops.



3. Sl st to first sc.

Round 5 (Beige – Forming the Square)


Work into the ch-5 loops from previous round.


1. (Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in first loop – this is a corner.



2. (3 dc in next ch-5 loop) – these are sides.



3. Repeat: [corner, side, side] x 2, then corner.



4. Join to top of starting ch-3.

Round 6 (Beige – Final Round)


This adds decorative scallops and solidifies the square.


1. (sc in each st across, ch 3 in corners) — continue around.



2. Optional: add scallops on top with (sc, ch 3, sc) in every 3rd stitch.




Sl st to join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Tips for Beginners:


Use stitch markers in corners to help keep track.


Don’t pull chains too tight – keep tension relaxed.


Count your stitches often, especially in rounds with petal loops and corners
