Abbreviations (US Terms):

Base (Make 1):
1. Ch 41
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (40 sc)
3. Rows 2–8: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (40 sc)
4. Do not fasten off. Continue to the mesh body.

Mesh Body:
1. Round 1 (Setup):
Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc + ch 1), sk 1 st, dc in next st, ch 1, sk 1—repeat to end of row.
At corner, work 3 dc evenly spaced around.
Continue the mesh pattern on all sides of the base, placing mesh dc-ch1 evenly, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beginning ch-4.
2. Round 2–24 (or desired height):
Sl st to next ch-1 sp, ch 4, dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1—repeat all around, join with sl st at top of ch-3.
Use stitch markers at the beginning of each round if needed.

1. Round 25: Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 sp around.
2. Round 26–27: Continue with sc in each st around.
3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

1. Count 10 sts in from one side edge and attach yarn.
2. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in next 6 sts.
3. Rows 2–35 (or desired length): Ch 1, turn, sc across.
